The Treasure Chest
Every good pirate hoards treasure. This is mine. Cool things I have found across the internet, games worth playing, tools that actually helped, ideas I keep coming back to, and links I would send to a friend at 2am with no context.
Games
A platformer about climbing a mountain that is actually about anxiety and self-doubt. The difficulty is brutal but fair and the story hit me harder than I expected. The B-sides and C-sides will destroy you. In a good way.
The best game about curiosity ever made. You explore a solar system stuck in a 22 minute time loop and the only thing that carries over between loops is what you learned. No upgrades. No power-ups. Just knowledge. Play it blind or do not play it at all.
Music
The eternal stream. The girl studying at her desk while lo-fi beats play is basically the patron saint of late night internet sessions. This has been running in the background of more streams and coding sessions than I can count. Sometimes the right soundtrack is all you need.
Internet
Neal Agarwal makes interactive web experiences that will break your brain in the best way possible. Spend a billion dollars. See the size of the universe. Draw a perfect circle. Every project on this site is a reminder that the web can still surprise you. I lose at least an hour every time I visit.
A time machine for the internet. You can look up what any website looked like at almost any point in its history. Want to see what Google looked like in 1998? What your old Geocities page said? What a news site reported on the day you were born? It is all there. This is genuinely one of the most important websites on the internet and not enough people know about it.
A website where people upload ten minute videos of the view from their window. That is it. You click a button and you are looking out someone's window in Tokyo or Buenos Aires or a small town in Norway. It sounds simple and it is. But there is something genuinely beautiful about staring out a stranger's window and realizing that right now, in real time, someone is living a completely different life on the other side of the planet. The internet at its best.
